If you are moving to England from America, you have to think about somethings and plan well.  You need to know if and when you can travel to England.  You have to look for a place to stay.  You should research the major cities.  Some places are dangerous, you should know which places to avoid.  Also, if you plan on going places, you have to learn the transportation system in England.  Finally, you have to know the laws and customs of England.

The first order of business it to find out if you will be allowed to travel to England, when you will be allow, and how long you will be allowed to stay.  You have to apply for a visa.  If you are only moving there for a short period of time, less than six months, you can just get a travel visa.  If you plan to move for longer and you need to work, then you will need to obtain a work visa.

Once you have the visa in order, you need to look for a place to stay.  You can do searches on google.co.uk for “relocate to England”, “flats”, “let a room”, “rent a room” to start with.  You can also search real estate sites like rightmove.co.uk.

You should research the different regions of England including the major cities like London, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Coventry, Nottingham, and Leicester.  Each of these cities are located in different parts of the country and have different things to offer you.

You also have to be aware of the dangerous places in England.  Usually when you hear about England in America it is not in the context of bad neighborhoods, but there are some bad neighborhoods in England that could be very unsafe for you and your family.  So make sure you know where they are.
